Eastern Regional  Electricity Board comprises of States of Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and the State of Sikkim. The Chairman of Power Utilities and the Secretary(Power) of the State Governments of the four  states of the Eastern Region along with Directors of Central   PSU, Member CEA  are the members of the Board. The Chairman,   Eastern Regional Electricity Board is  held by  rotation for one   year by the Chairman of BSEB, DVC, GRIDCO and  WBSEB. Eastern Regional Electricity Board Secretariat is under Central Electricity Authority and is headed by Member Secretary in the level of Chief Engineer of CEA.  The main functions of EREB are to frame policy matters on power sectors on regional perspective, to ensure grid discipline and to prepare Regional Energy Accounting of Central Sector generation including inter-regional exchange of power and to settle various techno-commercial issues amongst  the constituents.
